Our Accommodation and Host
During our visit to Santorini, my friend and travel companion Jim (Roadboy’s Travels) did some excellent sleuthing and found us great houses to stay in – MyBoZer. It is owned by the wonderful Antonis, and his sweet dog Bella comes with the package. Bella is a temporary guest, Antonis is fostering her.

We rented a car and Antonis met us at the airport to lead us back to the house so we wouldn’t get lost! He was waiting for us when we landed, and loaded our luggage in his car. We followed him to lovely twin houses with blue domes.
The house was beautifully appointed, and the fridge was generously stocked with provisions. But that’s not all! Antonis brings freshly baked pastries in the AM, and provides recommendations for things to do and places to eat.

One of my favorite parts of staying here was the donkey that came by every morning to graze in the yard.

Jim arranged a 2 hour walking tour our first night in Santorini. It was definitely a highlight of Santorini! The tour starts at sunset and goes into the evening. The guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining, and the views were spectacular!

Domaine Sigalas

It was a beautiful bright sunny day with a gentle breeze, and a view of the ocean in the distance. The meal was wonderful. I shared some of mine with a winery cat who clearly knew how to work the room. Our guide from the walking tour (who also recommended Domaine Sigalas) suggested we try the Nykteri wine, a clean crisp white wine which we enjoyed.
The food was fantastic! A Birthday Lunch For Jim

While we were traveling Jim had his birthday. To celebrate we went to Fratzeskos, a seafood restaurant down by the water that Antonis recommended and reserved for us. He explained that on one side of the island are the seafood restaurants that the tourists visit, and on the otherside are the ones that the locals go to. This is one of the ones the locals go to. The seafood is caught daily and locally – and you could tell. We had a great table, in the shade but with a full view of the ocean, an excellent meal and a surprise dessert. I’ll be thinking about that meal for a long time! I had the grilled calamari (not pictured-sorry sometimes I was so excited by the food that I forgot to photograph it!).
Pictured-fried zucchini (so much more delicious than the name implies), grilled scorpion fish, taramasalata, olives, and panna cotta with strawberry sauce.
