Greek Cookies

COMING SOON

My mother was a fabulous baker and some of my favorite childhood memories are working with her in the kitchen shaping oodles and oodles of cookies for weddings and christenings.  I would grab the step stool and drag it by her side, scramble to the top seat and position myself as her assistant.  These are my three favorite and I think it’s a pity to wait for a celebration to enjoy them, I think we should eat them year round.

These buttery cookies, each with its distinct flavor will be sold in packs of two dozen.

Paximathia

We didn’t call these biscotti, we call them paximathia.  Loaves of anise scented cookie dough are baked and then sliced and toasted.  The absolute perfect shape for dipping in coffee.

Koulouria

A golden dough made with eggs, butter, and a touch of olive oil is studded with bits of orange peel and shaped into a fat “s” and dusted with sesame seeds.

Kourabiethes

Sweet butter is melted and combined with eggs and a touch of flavoring to make these delicate cookies.  The sweetness comes from the powdered sugar, these cookies literally crumble in your mouth.  Be prepared for a powdered sugar bath each time you enjoy them.
