What

A couple times a year I get the girls together for a waffle party.  Typically I make the yeasted overnight waffles, which are absolutely the best!  I love them so much that I make them with my students once a semester and often have a batch of them cooked and ready in the freezer.  I add a touch of cornmeal when I make them.  (Rumor has it they are the same waffles that are made at Brown Sugar Kitchen in Oakland)

But this time I added Pumpkin Beer Waffles to the menu.  One of the guests forwarded this recipe to me prior to the party and I figured, what the heck, give it a whirl!

These are spicy dense waffles that go particularly well with crisp bacon and sautéed apples.  Oh, to have breakfast all day!

In addition to waffles we had deviled eggs and steamed green beans with lemon vinaigrette.
