A Classic Dinner Menu

Salmon with Roasted Vegetables and Chocolate Soufflé When I was in high school a classmates told a group of us about summer jobs at Mills College.  I jumped at the opportunity since I was interested in earning money to fund my album and jewelry obsession.  The job was working as a waitress for [...]

Cheesy Fingerling Potatoes

This recipe takes "Cheesy" to a new level! Because there aren't already enough ways to enjoy potatoes and cheese, here's another one for you!  Roasted fingerling potatoes, topped with cheddar and jack cheese and green onions.  Of course you could take this further and add sour cream and bacon [...]

Roasted Kabocha Squash with Tahini Sauce, Pomegranate Seeds, and Feta

Kabocha squashes are smaller than traditional pumpkins and have a dark green skin that can have flecks of orange on it.  Kabocha has to be cooked to be enjoyed and has a distinct flavor and almost waxy texture.

Broccoli Nut Soup & Buckwheat Bread

I've been doing a lot of freelance work lately which translates into hours and hours on the computer.  And even though I get up every hour on the hour for 10 minutes on the treadmill and some stretching I still feel as janky as the tin man.  Time to turn to my anti-inflammatory arsenal. I've written three cookbooks on the subject, so I'm an expert right?

Butternut Mash with Egg and Kale

It's rare that I am able to cook myself lunch, and I love it when I can.  I enjoy a freshly prepared meal rather than eating something reheated in a microwave at my desk.  I had intended to have the butternut mash and kale as a side dish to baked salmon, but it was lunch time and I was home, so why not.

Baking Madness!

Apparently I was in the mood to bake on Sunday! I didn't mean to crank out so much stuff, but that's what happens when you cook professionally for years. You start cooking and before you know it, you have enough food to open a cafe. It all started [...]

Roasted Vegetable and Garbanzo Bean Salad

As we all know, we must eat our vegetables!  I wanted to make a vegetable dish that would last a few days and be just as good as a salad or a warm side dish.  So I gathered some of my favorite vegetables and combined them, some cooked, some raw.  And I topped it [...]
